Savills is selling a Grade II-listed basement flat in Wapping Pierhead that is almost identical to one owned by Mirren and her husband, American film director Taylor Hackford. The price? £1.59 million.
“I’m in the privileged position of having a shared garden in Wapping," the Prime Suspect and The Queen star recently enthused. "I’m lucky that my fellow gardeners are very dedicated and creative."
This row of Georgian houses near the Thames is considered one of the finest in Docklands. It’s very different from the Hackfords’ main base in east Los Angeles, which Mirren describes as "not particularly rough, even though we do have drive-by shootings".
